Basketball Starts Big Week With Trip to Hillsdale on Thursday

The Ursuline College basketball starts a four-game road trip on Thursday with all four games having implications on the conference championship race.

The Arrows will start with a trip to Michigan to take on Hillsdale and then travel to Findlay on Saturday to take on the Oilers.

Ursuline currently sits in a tie for first place with Cedarville with the regular season winner earning the right to host the conference tournament which is slated for March 1-3.

The Chargers defeated Ursuline in their previous meeting earlier this season in Pepper Pike 84-68 and they have won seven of their last 10 games including a 68-62 win at Malone last Saturday.

The Arrows have won three-straight games and are 8-2 on the road in 2017-18 and defeated Ohio Valley 76-62 last Thursday.

In the first meeting between the two schools, Hillsdale's Allie Dittmer scored a game-high 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds on 12-of-15 from the floor. The Chargers outscored Ursuline 33-16 in the third quarter while limiting the Arrows to 35 percent shooting.

Ursuline was led by junior Paige Salisbury who finished with 18 points on 8-for-14 from the floor and senior Laney Lewis who had 16 points and 16 rebounds. Senior Camryn Hill had 14 points and junior Ky Crevison added 10 off the bench.

Hillsdale currently sits 13-8 on the season and are 6-2 at home while sitting three games back of the leaders in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
