The Ursuline College basketball team outscored Ohio Valley 38-21 in the first half as they defeated the Fighting Scots 82-45 on the road on Saturday afternoon.

Junior
Morgan Mattimore buried a jumper with 7:20 remaining in the first quarter to put Ursuline in front 7-6 and the Arrows would not trail again in the game.

Following the jumper by Mattimore, freshman
Emily Poling came in off the bench and quickly buried a three-pointer from the right wing to extend the lead to 10-6.

Ursuline led 17-10 after the opening quarter and went on to outscore Ohio Valley 21-11 in the second quarter to build a 17-point halftime lead.

With 4:26 remaining in the third quarter, sophomore
Sarah Lairson converted on a lay-up to extend the Ursuline lead to 47-27. Later in the quarter, junior
Ky Crevison hit a three-pointer to make it 52-27.

The Arrows shot 28-of-61 from the floor and hit a season-high 12 three-pointers while continuing to shoot well from the free throw line by going 14-of-15. Ohio Valley shot 13-of-56 from the field and were just 6-of-32 in the second half. Ursuline's defense forced a season-high 22 turnovers and blocked seven shots while grabbing nine steals.

Ursuline had all 11 players that entered the game score for the first time this season. The Arrows were led by Crevision who finished with 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting from behind the three-point line.

Freshman
Kaylin Burdick finished with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting while freshman
Bekah Green and Mattimore finished with nine points each.

Ursuline had 18 assists on its 28 field goals and turned the ball over a season-low eight times.

The Arrows will travel to the University of Findlay on Thursday to take on the Oilers starting at 5:30 PM.
