The Ursuline College basketball team will tip-off the 2018-19 season on the road as part of a Regional Challenge event hosted by Ferris State University on Friday and Saturday.
 
The Arrows will play Michigan Tech on Friday evening and conclude the weekend with a match-up against host Ferris State on Saturday.
 
Michigan Tech won last year's meeting in Pepper Pike 81-67 but will be under new leadership this year as Sam Hoyt takes over the helm of the program she once played for. The Huskies were picked second in the GLIAC North Division in the preseason coaches poll.
 
Ursuline returns five players from the 2017-18 team that went 19-10 and finished fourth in the Great Midwest. Senior Paige Salisbury returns as the second-leading scorer from a year ago when she averaged 8.5 points per game and shot 38 percent from the floor. She finished her junior campaign with 136 assists and only 55 turnovers.
 
The Arrows will also look for offensive contributions from junior guard Ky Crevison who returns as the team's leading three-pointer shooter from last year after shooting 41 percent from behind-the-arc (64-of-155).
 
Ursuline fell 81-75 in last year's season-opener against Ferris State who they will play on Saturday afternoon. The last time the two teams met in Big Rapids was in 2016-17 when the Arrows came away with a 91-61 victory.
 
Ferris State will return 13 players from last year's team and were picked third in the GLIAC North Division.
 
The Arrows three-game road trip to start the season will continue on November 14 when they travel to West Liberty for a non-conference match-up against the Hilltoppers.
