The Ursuline College swimming team earned its first victory of the season by defeating Manchester University 77-70 as part of a double-dual hosted by Baldwin Wallace University.
 
Junior Kelly Shantery finished second in both the 1000-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke with a time of 11:56.39 and 1:09.14 also took fourth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.40.
 
Senior Emma Hastings finished fourth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:16.53 while freshman Kristen Patrick and Sam Utterback took sixth and seventh with times of 2:40.93 and 2:52.58.
 
Hastings also finished third in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:19.11 and fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke while her teammate sophomore Jana Biss finished third in a time of 1:20.57.
 
Ursuline will compete at the Malone Invitational on Saturday, November 17 in Canton.
