The Ursuline College basketball team opens up Great Midwest Athletic Conference play at home on Thursday when they host Davis & Elkins College at 5:30 PM.
 
The Arrows are coming off a tough 65-53 non-conference loss at home this past Sunday to Northwood while the Senators have not played since an 83-63 win over Salem International on November 14.
 
Ursuline and D&E both opened the season at Ferris State's Regional Challenge in which both teams lost to Michigan Tech and the host Bulldogs.
 
The Arrows are 9-3 all-time against Davis & Elkins including winning eight straight and nine of the last 10 meetings between the two teams dating back to a 77-71 win for the Senators during the 2015-16 season.
 
Last season, Ursuline won the meeting between the two teams in Pepper Pike 82-74 and won 79-74 in a New Year's Day match-up in Elkins, West Virginia.
 
Through five games, junior Julia Cardwell has paced the Arrows offense by averaging 15.2 points per game including a career-high 25 points in an overtime win over Mercyhurst. Freshman Kaylin Burdick has averaged 11 points per game and leads the team with 7.8 rebounds per contest while fellow freshman Bekah Green has averaged 10.2 points per night and is second on the team in assists.
 
Since joining the league, Ursuline is 55-31 all-time in Great Midwest play and won the 2015-16 and 2016-17 Regular Season Championships.
 
Ursuline will remain home on Saturday and continue conference play against Alderson Broaddus at 2:00 PM.
