The Ursuline College basketball team dropped a 79-58 road decision to Ferris State on Saturday afternoon in the finale of the Regional Crossover Challenge hosted by the Bulldogs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Â
Ursuline fell behind 24-14 after the first quarter and were held to five points in the second quarter as they faced a 35-19 halftime deficit.

The Arrows defense was the best it had been in the two games on the road trip allowing only 11 points in the second quarter.
Â
The third quarter proved to be the best of the trip for Ursuline as they outscored the Bulldogs 26-19 and cut the deficit to 54-45 after three.

Ursuline shot 41 percent from the floor (14-of-34) from the floor in the second half after being held to just 24 percent shooting in the first half.

THE DIFFERENCE
Â
Ursuline was out rebounded 56-40 in the contest including 25 offensive rebounds by the Bulldogs that led to 27 second chance points.

Ferris State also converted 25 Ursuline turnovers into 18 points.

The Arrows reserves outscored the Bulldogs 25-22.

STATISTICAL LEADERS

The Arrows were paced by freshman
Kaylin Burdick who scored a career-best 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds. She was 2-for-2 from behind-the-arc and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

Jennah Taylor posted her second-straight double-digit game with 11 points and seven boards. She was an efficient 4-for-6 from the field and 3-for-4 from the line.

Bekah Green each added eight points for Ursuline.

Ursuline will travel to West Liberty University on Wednesday, November 14 to take on the Hilltoppers. Last season, Ursuline won the match-up 105-85 in Pepper Pike in a shootout by both teams.
