The Ursuline College volleyball team will travel to Shepherd Unviersity in West Virginia for the Shepherd Showdown on Friday and Saturday.

The Arrows opened the 2017 season last weekend at the IUP Crimson Hawk tournament where they defeated Roberts Wesleyan in five sets while falling to host IUP, Daemen College (NY.) and Clarion University.

Sophomore
Vikki Henderson led the Arrows with 58 kills in the four matches last weekend including a season-high 18 in the win over Roberts Wesleyan. Freshman
Jessie Lee and sophomore Angie Zamora each had 30 kills in the four matches.

Ursuline will open the Shepherd event with a familiar opponent in fellow Great Midwest member Alderson Broaddus in a non-conference match. The Arrows split their season series in 2016 with the Battlers by winning 3-0 at home and falling in five sets at Alderson Broaddus.

On Friday evening, Ursuline will take on the host Rams at 8:00pm. Shepherd opened its season on the road in the Skyhawk Invitational where they went 3-0 with wins over Stonehill, Dominican College and Bloomfield.

Saturday the Arrows will take on Virginia State University at 12:30pm and conclude the event with a match against Lock Haven at 5:30pm.

Ursuline will begin Great Midwest play at home on Thursday when they host Ohio Valley University and remain home on Friday when they host Davis & Elkins and Saturday a re-match with Alderson Broaddus.
