The Ursuline College soccer team opened the 2017 Great Midwest portion of its schedule with a 2-0 shutout win over visiting Lake Erie College on Wednesday afternoon in Pepper Pike
For the second straight match, the Arrows offense came out in attack mode. Senior
Taylor Dackin started the scoring by following a shot from redshirt sophomore
Allie Moening into the back of the net to make it 1-0 in the 21
st minute.
Later in the first half, freshman
Jarah Frohlich scored her first career goal to make it 2-0 in favor of Ursuline headed into the half.
The Arrows got a second straight strong performance in goal from freshman
Gina Cerny who registered seven saves, six of which came in the second half.
Ursuline outshot Lake Erie 17-13 including 13-7 in shots on goal while the Arrows had 10 corner kicks to the Storm's seven.
"It is a good win for us to open up a tough conference schedule," said Ursuline head coach
Jason Kubbins.
The Arrows will travel to Clarion University on Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm for a non-conference match with the Golden Eagles.
