The Arrows defeated Roberts Wesleyan in a five-set thriller to start the day before falling to Clarion in three sets in the final match of the event.
 
Ursuline fell behind to Roberts Wesleyan after a tough 30-28 defeat in the opening set of day two before rallying to take the second set 25-22 to even the match at one set a piece.
 
The Arrows won the third in convincing fashion (25-16) before Wesleyan edged out a 30-28 victory in the fourth set to force a fifth and deciding set.
 
Ursuline got back on track in the fifth set and won 15-9 to notch their first victory of 2017.
 
Sophomore Vikki Henderson led the Arrows with 18 kills while freshman Jessie Lee added 15 and sophomore Angie Zamora had ten. Sophomore Jill Morrow led the Arrows with five blocks while freshman Zoe Skinner chipped in a team-best 33 digs.
 
Ursuline will travel to Shepherdstown, West Virginia on September 8-9 to take part in the Shepherd University tournament. Ursuline will play Alderson Broaddus and host Shepherd on day one and finish with matches against Virginia State and Lock Haven on day two.
