The Ursuline College lacrosse team earned a pair of wins over the weekend in West Virginia to take control of first-place in the G-MAC after the first round of play.
The Arrows defeated Alderson Broaddus 13-7 on Thursday and then knocked off Davis & Elkins 19-10 on Saturday.
On Thursday at Alderson Broaddus, Ursuline opened the scoring in the first minute when junior
Cydney Bartlett scored an unassisted goal to make it 1-0.
After the Battlers tied the contest 1-1, sophomore
Hayley Mazreku added a goal and senior
Maddie Kipp found the net on back-to-back possessions to make it 4-1.
Ursuline led 7-4 at the break.
Bartlett scored her third goal of the game in the opening minute of the second half and sophomore
Abigail Neeley added a goal to make it a 9-4 lead. Neeley later added two more goals to push the lead out to 11-6 with under 15 minutes to play.
Ursuline outshot Alderson Broaddus 29-25 in the game and also won the ground ball battle 14-12.

Lauren Cole notched 11 saves in the victory while Bartlett finished with four goals and Neeley had three.
On Saturday in Elkins, the Arrows raced out to a 4-0 lead behind three goals from Neeley and one from Bartlett.
The Senators battled back to tie the game at 4-4 before Kipp added a goal to make it 5-4 in favor of the Arrows.
Ursuline outscored Davis & Elkins 9-1 the remaining 15 minutes of the first half to build a 13-5 lead at the break.

Natalie Nowicki all had four goals each for Ursuline while senior Breanna Cervantes added three.
The Arrows will travel to Hiram for a make-up game against the Terriers on Friday, April 14 before returning home on April 20 to host Alderson Broaddus.
