The Ursuline College lacrosse team began its spring trip with an 18-6 win over the College of Mount St. Joseph on Saturday afternoon in Cincinnati.
Sophomore
Hayley Mazreku got the scoring started for Ursuline in with back-to-back goals to make it 2-0 in the first eight minutes of play. Freshman
Natalie Nowicki followed with three straight goals in the next six minutes and fellow freshman
Michaela Riley added a goal to make it 6-0.
Senior Breanna Cervantes scored three first half goals and junior
Cydney Bartlett added a pair of scores to make it 12-2 at the half.
Nowicki finished with a career-best five goals and Bartlett also had five scores for Ursuline. Cervantes added four goals and Mazreku chipped in a pair. Senior
Maddie Kipp and Bartlett also had two assists.
In goal, senior
Lauren Cole made five saves in the first half and senior
Sarah Bowerman had three saves in the second half.
Ursuline will travel to Harrogate, Tennessee on Monday to play Lincoln Memorial University on Monday at 4:00 PM before finishing the trip in Lexington, Kentucky on Tuesday against Transylvania University.
