The Ursuline College softball team took a pair of road games against Ohio Christian on Wednesday afternoon in Circleville, Ohio. The Arrows won game one 6-1 and game two by a score of 4-1.

The Arrows got a quick pop in the first inning with one out when junior
Rosie Lyard homered to make it 1-0. After two runners reached via errors, senior
Brittany Humbel singled to make it 2-0. Later in the inning, junior B.J. Thomas, drove in a run with a base hit to make it 4-0 after one inning.

In the fourth, the Arrows got a run across when Humbel reached on a fielders' choice that allowed Lyard to score to make it 6-0.

Humbel (4-5) picked up the win with four innings of work allowing just one run on two hits while striking out six and walking one. Freshman
Rachel Fletcher worked three scoreless innings of relief while allowing just two hits and striking out one.

In game two, Ursuline once again jumped out to a first inning lead with a pair of runs. Humbel again drove in two with a base hit to score Snow and Lyard to make it 2-0 after one.

The Arrows also got a pair of runs in the second inning after Snow picked up two RBI with a base hit.

Junior
Gina Rosshirt allowed just one run on three hits in a complete game while striking out six and walking two.

Ursuline will host Cedarville on Monday and Tuesday in a G-MAC contest with both doubleheaders starting at 3:00 PM. The series was moved from the weekend due to weather.
