The Ursuline College lacrosse team will open the 2017 season on the road against Baldwin Wallace University on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.

The Arrows are coming off a 2016 campaign in which they went 9-8 overall including 4-0 in the first season of lacrosse in the G-MAC. Ursuline won both the regular season and tournament titles.

Ursuline will send a veteran team to the field this year that returns 12 players who saw action last season. Junior Cydney won the G-MAC Player of the Year award last season after scoring 47 goals. Freshman
Hayley Mazreku won the Freshman of the Year award and led the team in goals scored with 51.

The Arrows featured seven players that were name to the G-MAC All-Conference First Team.

Also returning is the Arrows second leading scorer in senior
Maddie Kipp who found the goal 49 times in 2016.

In goal, both seniors
Lauren Cole and
Sarah Bowerman saw time last year. Cole made 107 saves before an injury shortened her season and Bowerman posted a 4-1 record in her five starts.

Ursuline averaged 13.5 goals per game last year while allowing 12.82 to the opposition.

After the road match-up with Baldwin Wallace, Ursuline will travel to Cincinnati on Saturday to take on Mount St. Joseph.Â
