The Ursuline College softball team picked up a 3-1 win over Delta State University on day two of the Falcon Frenzy Classic in Montevallo, Alabama on Saturday afternoon.

After the pitchers controlled the first five innings, the Ursuline offense took advantage of a couple of defensive miscues by Delta State to get on the board in the sixth inning.

Brigitte Snow reached on a fielder's choice after fellow senior
Carly Hoffner started the inning by drawing a walk. Senior
Kaitlin Krajcik reached on an error by the pitcher that allowed Snow and pinch runner freshman
Rachel Fletcher to come around and score to make it 2-0.

Delta State cut the deficit to 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning before the Arrows added an insurance run in the road half of the seventh inning. Junior
BJ Thomas reached on a fielding error by the shortstop The Arrows got another runner aboard on a fielder's choice and Snow was then hit by a pitch before sophomore
Ellise Presutto reached on an error to allow Hoffner to score an unearned run to make it 3-1.

Delta State picked up two hits in the bottom of the seventh inning but could not get a run across against senior
Brittany Humbel.

Humbel picked up the win with seven innings of work by allowing a run on six hits while striking out seven and walking two.

Ursuline has two games remaining on Sunday morning when they will take on Mississippi College at 10:00 AM EST and Lee College at 12:15 PM EST. Â
