The Ursuline College basketball team will open Great Midwest Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon at home against Lake Erie College at 2:00 PM.

This will be the first-ever conference match-up between the two schools that have met six times in the past with the all-time series being tied 3-3.

The Arrows won last season's meeting 89-71 at Lake Erie in which senior
Laney Lewis posted a 24 point, 20 rebound double-double performance. Ursuline shot 54 percent from the field and went 16-for-25 from three in the win.

Lake Erie will be led by senior Kayla Gabor who is averaging 19.4 points per game and shooting 44 percent from the field. Sophomore guard Josie Chaddock has been strong for the Storm as well by averaging 12.6 points per game and shooting 42 percent from the floor.

Ursuline and Lake Erie last met in Pepper Pike in the first-ever game played in the Jane and Lee Seidman Gymnasium during the 2015-16 season in which the Arrows came away with a 100-69 victory.

The Arrows have won the last two regular season championships in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference and have posted a 25-3 mark against the rest of the league since 2015-16.

The Arrows will host Davis & Elkins College on Wednesday at 5:30 PM.Â
