The Ursuline College soccer team used a late goal from freshman
Jill Bohling to get past Tiffin University 2-1 in the first road match of the year.
Â
Ursuline (2-0) wasted little time scoring when
Allie Moening connected with junior
Steph Chlad in the 11
th minute to make it 1-0.
Â
For the second straight match, Ursuline controlled the tempo and outshot Tiffin 12-3 in the first half.
Â
The 1-0 lead held until the 81
st minute when Tiffin attempted their first shot of the second half and scored off the foot from Sierra Besecker to make it 1-1.
Â
With under six minutes to play, Bohling took a pass from Chlad and found the back of the net for her first collegiate goal to give the Arrows the 2-1 lead.
Â
The defense allowed just one more shot over the final 5:30 to preserve the win.
Â
The Arrows outshot the Dragons 21-5 overall in the match and have outshot their opponents 43-9 on the opening weekend.
Â
Ursuline returns home on Thursday afternoon at 4:00pm to host Davis & Elkins in the G-MAC opener. The Arrows defeated the Senators 4-1 in Pepper Pike last September but fell 2-0 in West Virginia.
