The Ursuline College soccer team started the 2016 season with a 1-0 win over visiting West Liberty on Thursday afternoon.
 
The Arrows controlled the tempo throughout the entire first half by outshooting the Hilltoppers 13-2 but the contest remained scoreless at the intermission.
 
Ursuline finally got on the board in the 53^rd minute when sophomore Aline Czaplicki connected with senior Cassie Cripe to make it 1-0.
 
The Arrows defense remained strong the final 30 minutes of the game to make the one goal lead stand.
 
Ursuline outshot West Liberty 22-4 in the contest with 12 of the 22 shots being on goal.
 
Senior goalkeeper Helen Jazzar made three saves while posting her 13^th career shutout in an Ursuline uniform.
