The Ursuline College soccer team started the 2016 season with a 1-0 win over visiting West Liberty on Thursday afternoon.

The Arrows controlled the tempo throughout the entire first half by outshooting the Hilltoppers 13-2 but the contest remained scoreless at the intermission.

Ursuline finally got on the board in the 53
rd minute when sophomore
Aline Czaplicki connected with senior
Cassie Cripe to make it 1-0.

The Arrows defense remained strong the final 30 minutes of the game to make the one goal lead stand.

Ursuline outshot West Liberty 22-4 in the contest with 12 of the 22 shots being on goal.

Helen Jazzar made three saves while posting her 13
th career shutout in an Ursuline uniform.
