The Ursuline College lacrosse team had a strong second half effort but fell 18-8 on the road to Walsh University in a non-conference match-up on Wednesday afternoon.

The Arrows fell behind 2-0 in the early minutes of the contest before freshman
Hayley Mazreku got Ursuline on the board with a goal at the 25:19 mark to make it 2-1. The Cavaliers scored the next two goals to build a 4-1 lead before sophomore
Cydney Bartlett scored to make it 4-2.

Abigail Neeley got Ursuline to within 5-3 with a goal at the 9:52 mark of the first half but Walsh closed the half with five unanswered goals to take a 10-3 lead into the break.

In the second half, juniors Breanna Cervantes and
Maddie Kipp scored back-to-back goals to bring Ursuline back to within six at 11-5. Bartlett later added her second goal of the game but the Arrows still trailed 13-6.

Anika Aberegg and
Grace Savage scored the final two goals of the game for Ursuline.

Ursuline was outshot 41-23 in the game and Walsh won 17 draw controls compared to 11 for the Arrows. Ursuline committed 21 turnovers while the Cavaliers had 17.

Lauren Cole made 14 saves on 41 shots faced.

Ursuline will travel to Ada, Ohio on April 1 to take on Ohio Northern University at 6:30 PM.
