LAST TIME OUTUrsuline picked up a program record 16
th win on Saturday with a 91-55 win over visiting Davis & Elkins. The Arrows were led by freshman Natalie Koenig who finished with 19 points on 7-for-12 from the floor including 3-for-5 from behind-the-arc. She also grabbed five steals in 29 minutes. Sophomore Camryn Hill added 18 points and pulled down 9 rebounds in 28 minutes. Junior Erica Huber was also in double digits with 12 points and also had four steals.
Trevecca is coming off an 82-42 win over Salem International on Saturday. The Trojans were led by Megan Kilburn who finished with 15 points in just 16 minutes. Helen Mitchner added 11 points and hit 3-of-5 from behind-the-arc.
SCOUTING URSULINE Through 19 games, the Arrows are ranked in the top of in the nation in offense with 84.4 points per game. Ursuline has scored 100 points four times at home this season, most recently when they scored 128 in the win over Bluefield.
Ursuline is also ranked second in the conference in defense by allowing 62.7 points per game.
Ursuline has five players averaging double figures this season led by sophomore Camryn Hill who is averaging 16.3 points per game and 9.3 rebounds. Junior Erica Huber is averaging 14.2 points per contest while redshirt sophomore Laney Lewis is averaging 12.1 points per night along with 10.2 rebounds. The freshman duo of Brigan Wymer and Natalie Koenig who are scoring 13.3 and 12.8 points respectively.
SCOUTING TREVECCA NAZARENE The Trojans have won four straight games in the G-MAC and currently sit 4-3 in the conference. Sarah Raby leads Trevecca in scoring with 11.1 points per game and also pulls in seven rebounds per contest.
Trevecca has the sixth highest scoring offense in the conference at 62.2 points per game and has allowed 77.8 points per game. After starting the season 1-11, the Trojans have won four straight games in conference.
HOME SWEET HOME Ursuline has been nearly unbeatable in their new facility this season. The Arrows are 9-2 in the Seidman Gymnasium this season, with the lone loss coming in overtime at the buzzer against Kentucky Wesleyan. The Arrows have scored 100 points or more four times at home and are averaging 87.7 points per game at home.
REWRITING THE RECORD BOOKS The win against Bluefield State set numerous school and G-MAC records. The 128 points was the most scored in a NCAA Division II game this season and the 21 made three's tied for the fourth most of any team this season.
The Arrows also had a conference-best 36 assists. The 14
th win of the season for Ursuline matched the most wins since the 2013-14 season and are one shy of tying the most wins in school history.
LAST MEETING Ursuline defeated Trevecca 101-80 in early January at Ursuline to give the Arrows their first win over Trevecca in program history. Ursuline was led by sophomore Camryn Hill who finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds while freshman Brigan Wymer added 19 points and junior Erica Huber finished with 16 points and dished out seven assists.
Trevecca was led by Sarah Raby who finished with 25 points on 10-for-16 shooting and also grabbed seven rebounds. Paige Baugher added 23 points on 9-for-19 from the floor while Helen Mitchner added 11.
SPREADING THE WEALTH The Arrows lead the conference in sharing the basketball through the first 17 games. Ursuline is averaging 16.4 assists per game. Ursuline had a season-high 23 assists on 36 field goals against Trevecca on January 4. The Arrows also lead the conference with a 1.1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
PROTECTING THE PAINT Ursuline ranks first in the G-MAC in blocked shots per game with 4.1, just ahead of Cedarville who is averaging 3.8 blocks. Laney Lewis had a league-best seven blocks against Ohio Valley and leads the G-MAC with 1.6 blocks per game. Sophomore Camryn Hill is second in the G-MAC with 1.3 blocks per night.
FROM DEEP IN THE SEDIMAN GYMNASIUM The Arrows lead the G-MAC in both field goal percentage (44 percent) and three-point field goal percentage (38 percent).
Ursuline had made 183 threes through the first 19 games led by junior Erica Huber who has 42 makes. Freshman Brigan Wymer has 35, sophomore Camryn Hill has 35 and also leads the league in three-point field goal percentage (49 percent).
THE DIFF Ursuline leads the G-MAC in scoring differential with a +20.6 margin over their opponents.
CASHING IN AT THE STRIPE Ursuline leads the league in free throw percentage at 73 percent on the season. The Arrows have taken the second most free throws with 324 in the conference behind Ohio Valley (336). Ursuline attempted a season high 35 free throws against Lake Erie and went 31-for-35 from the line.
NEXT UP The Arrows will remain on the road on Saturday as they travel to Owensboro, Kentucky to take on Kentucky Wesleyan. Ursuline lost the first match-up of the season 77-76 in overtime.
