The Ursuline College volleyball team defeated crosstown rival Notre Dame College 3-1 on Tuesday evening at the Jane and Lee Seidman Gymnasium inside the Sister Diana Stano Athletic Center. 

Ursuline and Notre Dame traded points in the first set before the Arrows built a 6-2 lead. The Falcons got as close as 6-4 before the Arrows went on a run to build their lead to 11-4. Notre Dame eventually tied the match 14-14 and the two teams traded points before the Arrows won the set 25-23. 

The Arrows took the second set 25-19 but The Falcons rallied to take the third 25-20 to force a fourth set. After falling behind in the previous two sets, the Arrows jumped out to an early lead and controlled the fourth set before winning 25-12 and taking the match. 

Ursuline was led by senior Abbie Fabo who had a match-high 17 kills and juniors Maykayla Windau and Emily Loftus who had 12 and eight kills respectively. Senior Sabrina Kinney had 38 digs to lead both teams and freshman setter Katelyn Selleny notched 42 assists. Senior Elise Harcek had six blocks while sophomore Courtney Burns added five. 

The Arrows hit .187 compared to .088 for the Falcons on the evening. 

The win improves Ursuline to 5-11 on the season and they will be back into conference play on Friday night when they host Trevecca Nazarene at 6pm (EST). There will be live video and stats provided of the match on the Ursuline Sports Network.
