Follow Ursuline Athletics on FacebookBox Score FINDLAY, Ohio - The Ursuline College lacrosse team dropped its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener by a score of 22-8 at the University of Findlay on Thursday (April 2) night.
With the loss, the Arrows are now 0-6 overall and 0-1 in the GLIAC while the Oilers improved to 3-5 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
It was a 10-5 game at halftime and the Arrows actually lead 3-2 early on thanks to goals from freshman Cydney Bartlett and sophomores Natalie Pachinger and Sara Kiefer.
Findlay went on a 3-0 run to make it a 5-3 game before Bartlett struck again to pull UC within one. UF scored the next five goals before freshman Celeste Friel closed the first half scoring with 4:35 left.
Pachinger opened the second half scoring 56 seconds in on a free position shot which made it 10-6 but the Oilers rattled off seven straight strikes to extend the lead to 17-6. Two goals from sophomore Breana Cervantes in the final 15:40 helped the Ursuline cause but Findlay won the second half 12-3.
UF out-shot UC 43-19, including 24-9 in the first half. Ursuline sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Cole made 11 saves.
The Arrows will get right back at it on Saturday (April 4) with a GLIAC game against
Tiffin University.
