PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – The Ursuline College lacrosse team lost its last non-conference game of the season to The College of Wooster, 20-11, on Thursday (April 16) evening.

With the loss, the Arrows dipped to 2-10 overall while the Fighting Scots, winners in 11 straight, improved to 12-2.

Sophomore Maddie Kipp led UC with four goals, one of which came on a pretty pass from freshman Cydney Bartlett. Bartlett put it right on the money and Kipp caught and finished in one motion to beat Wooster's keeper Isabel Perman.

Bartlett scored twice herself and Ed Karasek's club also got goals from freshman Celeste Friel and sophomores Natalie Pachinger, Grace Savage, Breana Cervantes and Natalie Dell. Dell's goal was the first of her career.

The Arrows started the game with just 12 healthy bodies and Friel exited with around 10 minutes to go in the first half due to injury so UC played down a player for the final 40 minutes.

Wooster was just too much to handle. Abby Szlachta scored four times and Shelby Stone had three goals, as did Molly Sennett and Ellie Hudson-Heck. Michaela Lawrence scored twice.

Stone was also credited with five assists and senior Ashley Parry had two helpers to go with a goal.

The visitors jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before Friel put UC on the board. Wooster answered 26 seconds after Friel found the back of the net to build the lead back to three and then Kipp and Bartlett both scored on free position shots to bring UC back within one. UC looked to have some momentum but the Fighting Scots closed the first half on a 7-2 run to take an 11-5 lead into the break and never looked back.

Wooster outshot Ursuline by 15 (37-22) including 21-8 in the first half. UC sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Cole made 10 saves and her counterpart Perman had five stops.

The Arrows will host Alderson Broaddus University at 4:00 p.m. on Friday (April 17). There will not be a live audio broadcast for Friday's game.
