Follow Ursuline Athletics on FacebookBox Score PEPPER PIKE, Ohio - The Ursuline College tennis team lost its final non-conference match of the year, 6-3 to Geneva College on Wednesday (April 15) afternoon.
With the loss, the Arrows fell to 1-5 while the Golden Tornadoes improved to 2-0.
UC freshman Roslyn Ng was victorious at first singles as she took care of Elizabeth Stewart (6-1, 6-0) to improve to 5-1. Geneva only brought five players so the Arrows earned points via forfeit at sixth singles and third doubles.
Freshman Amanda Popik had a close one at second singles but she fell to Sara Stoll by a score of 6-4, 6-3. Ng and Popik teamed together and came up short in first doubles, 8-6. Senior Jules Turiczek and junior Caitlin Seese were turned away by an identical 8-6 score at the second doubles spot.
The Arrows are off on Thursday before returning to conference play on Friday (April 17) when
Alderson Broaddus University comes to town. That match will start at 4:00 p.m. at the UC Tennis Courts.
