Ursuline wraps up its Southern Swing with a record of 0-3 while Centre ended its two-game losing streak and improved to 2-4 overall.
Sophomore Natalie Pachinger and freshman Cydney Bartlett each scored three goals. Bartlett's classmate Celeste Friel found the back of the net twice and sophomores Breana Cervantes and Maddie Kipp each scored a goal.
Pachinger and fellow sophomore Anika Aberegg were both credited with an assist.
Sophomore goalie Lauren Cole made 12 saves and watched as the Colonels outshot the Arrows 45-19 and had a 33-16 edge in shots on goal.
The game was tightly-contested for the first 17 minutes, but a dominant stretch over the end of the first half and the beginning of the second helped Centre pull away. The Colonels outscored the Arrows 8-1 over the final 13 minutes of the first half and 5-0 over the first 11 minutes of the second half to turn a 5-4 deficit into a 17-6 lead.
Ursuline was competitive through much of the first half, though, and took an early lead when Bartlett scored two minutes in. Centre came back with three straight goals, but UC answered with four of the next five to go in front 5-4.
It was all Centre from that point forward, as the Colonels pushed the lead to 12-6 by halftime and to as many as 11 on three straight occasions. Though Ursuline scored back-to-back goals twice in the second half, the Arrows would not come any closer than nine the rest of the way.
The Arrows are idle from competition until next Thursday (March 19) when they will travel up the road to play neighborhood rival
