After back-to-back wins on the road, the Arrows have improved their record to 5-18 overall and 4-8 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. SIU is 0-23 and 0-10 in conference play.
All 10 Arrows who were active hit at least one field goal and five Ursuline players scored in double figures. Senior forward Emma Ricketts and freshman guard Makayla Rosselot each scored 13 and freshmen guards Camille Gist and Kristen Curtis both had 12. Sophomore guard Delayne Seigla hit three of her five three-point attempts on her way to 11 points.
Freshman forward Camryn Hill had nine points, sophomore guard Erica Huber chipped in six and senior guard Brianna Woods finished with five. Freshman forward Madison Schroeder and freshman guard Kylie Owoc both were 1-2 from the field.
Curtis was a perfect three-for-three from beyond the arc in the first half as UC led 49-29 at the intermission. She finished 4-6 from three-point territory while guards Rosselot and Seigla both connected on three triples. Huber and Ricketts each hit two of three three-point tries and Woods knocked down one of her two three-point attempts.
As a team, the Arrows shot 50 percent (15-30) from three.
Samantha Aikens led SIU with a game-high 24 points. Alexus Cooper had 14 and seven rebounds and Shakinah Haggins finished with 10 points.
UC had a 10-rebound advantage (47-37) but did turn it over three more times than the Fighting Tigers (19-16).
Ursuline is home for two conference games before going back on the road. On Thursday (Feb. 12), the Arrows will get together with
Davis & Elkins College at
Lake Erie College's Jerome T. Osborne Family Athletic and Wellness Center.
That game will tip-off at 6:00 p.m. and Max Radigan will call all the action live on the
Ursuline College Sports Network.
