G-MAC Volleyball Championship Home PageThe Ursuline College volleyball team will travel to Mason, Ohio on Thursday to take on Davis & Elkins College in the first round of the G-MAC Volleyball Championships.

The Arrows got into the tournament after Kentucky Wesleyan lost to Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday afternoon in straight sets. Despite a season of injuries to key players, Ursuline took a set from first place Cedarville on November 4.

Ursuline and Davis & Elkins met one time in the regular season in Pepper Pike with the Arrows winning 3-1. Senior Abbie Fabo (Willoughby/Willoughby South) and sophomore Courtney Burns (Fostoria/Hopewell-Loudon) led the Arrows with 11 kills each. Senior Elise Harcek (Taylor, Michigan/Cabrini) added seven kills.

The Arrows won the first set 25-20 before the Senators took the second set 25-19. Ursuline won the next two sets 25-20 and 25-18.

Davis & Elkins finished the regular season 14-15 overall and had a 6-4 mark in the G-MAC. Since October 20, the Senators have won 12 out of 13 matches with the lone loss coming at Seton Hill on November 13.

The winner will take on number one seeded and regular season champion Cedarville on Friday.Â
