Ursuline Drops Five Set Thriller To Trevecca

The Ursuline College volleyball team dropped a five-set thrilling match with the visiting Trevecca Nazarene Trojans on Friday night in the Jane and Lee Seidman Gymnasium. 

Ursuline (5-12, 1-2 G-MAC) came out with an impressive first set as they downed the Trojans 25-17. Trevecca responded by taking the next two sets 25-22 and 26-24 to take a 2-1 lead in the match. 

The Arrows responded with a 25-21 win to force a fifth set but the Trojans pulled out the 15-13 win in the final set to take the match. 

Ursuline was led by junior Makayla Windau who finished with 18 kills while fellow junior Emily Loftus had 11 and senior Elise Harcek added 10. Sophomore Courtney Burns had six blocks to lead the Arrows and Harcek chipped in five. Senior Sabrina Kinney finished with 21 digs while senior Abbie Fabo and Windau both had 19. Freshman Katelyn Selleny finished with 48 assists. 

Trevecca's Katelyn Atkinson had a match-high 25 kills to lead the Trojans. 

The Arrows are right back in G-MAC play tomorrow afternoon when they host Kentucky Wesleyan at 1:00pm. The game will be the annual "Dig For A Cure Game" to raise awarness for breast cancer.
