ELKINS, W. Va. - The Ursuline College basketball team knocked down a season-high 14 three-pointers, committed a season-low 14 turnovers and went 11-12 at the free throw line ... and lost to Davis & Elkins College by a score of 77-71 on Thursday (Jan. 15) night.

UC is now 3-14 overall and 2-5 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference while D&E improved to 8-6 overall and 4-2 in conference play.

Freshman forward Madison Schroeder earned her second double-double of the year with a 13-point, 10-rebound performance. Sophomore point guard Erica Huber scored a team-high 17 points and handed out seven assists and freshman guard Makayla Rosselot chipped in 14 points. Huber and Rosselot each hit four three-pointers and sophomore guard Delayne Seigla hit three triples to account for her nine points.

Senior forward Emma Ricketts had eight points and three boards while reserve freshman guard Camille Gist contributed seven points and six rebounds. UC's other three points came on a triple from senior guard Brianna Woods.

D&E's Sharmaine Baker matched Huber's effort with a 17-point night. She got help from Carley O'Neal (13 points on 5-6 shooting) and reserve Tajee Pledger who went for 10 points (on three official field goal attempts) and 11 rebounds.

Despite leading by 11 with 3:01 left in the first half, the Senators were in front by just one (45-44) at the break. UC took a 63-62 lead with 8:47 remaining and the game was tied for the final time at 69-69 after a Rosselot three with 5:11 to go.

The Senators finished the game on an 8-2 run to earn the six-point victory, but only hit one field goal in the final six minutes. O'Neal hit a layup with 1:25 remaining and the other six points all came at the charity stripe.

Ursuline will stay in West Virginia to take on Alderson Broaddus University (4-10, 2-3 G-MAC) on Saturday (Jan. 17) at 2:00 p.m. Alderson Broaddus will provide live video and live stats and Max Radigan will call all the action live on the Ursuline College Sports Network.
