UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio - The Ursuline College basketball team snapped its six-game losing skid with a 71-64 win over Salem International University on Saturday (Jan. 10) night.

The Arrows are now 3-13 overall and 2-4 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference while the Tigers are 0-17 and 0-5 in conference play.

Ursuline connected on a season-high 11 three-pointers with freshman guard Makayla Rosselot leading the way. The Fayetteville, Ohio native was 6-11 from three-point territory and finished with a team-high 20 points.

Senior forward Emma Ricketts scored 11 points while sophomore guard Erica Huber and senior guard Brianna Woods each scored nine. Freshman forward Camryn Hill scored eight points and corralled 10 rebounds and her classmate Camille Gist scored seven points off the bench.

Samantha Aikens scored a game-high 22 points and Shakinah Haggins had a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards. Amanda Jackson chipped in 14 points, six rebounds and six assists in the losing effort.

Ursuline led 39-21 at the half thanks to 14 points from Rosselot in the first 20 minutes. Salem won the second stanza 43-32 but never got closer than the final seven-point margin.

The team rebounding statistics were even at 36 both ways and UC committed one more turnover (21-20) than SIU.

Ursuline will head to West Virginia this weekend for a two-game conference trip that starts with Thursday's 5:30 p.m. contest at Davis & Elkins College. The game will be covered with free live stats and free live video on D&E's UStream channel.

Davis & Elkins typically doesn't offer audio play-by-play with their video but Max Radigan will call Thursday's action before jumping back on the Ursuline College Sports Network for Saturday's game.
