The win was UC's seventh straight after starting the year with a five-set loss against Kutztown University on Sep. 5. Salem International has dropped nine straight matches to begin the year but there is no shame in losing to a team that has dropped just two of its last 23 sets.
Sophomore Makayla Windau led UC with eight kills and junior Elise Harcek had six while hitting .500. Windau's classmate Emily Adkinson had five kills (.417), junior Abbie Fabo had four and freshman Courtney Burns contributed three.
Senior setter Molly Hilfinger had 24 assists to go with her one kill. Defensively, Burns led the way with seven digs.
It's a quick turnaround as UC will take on
Ohio Valley University (11:00 a.m.) and
Ohio Christian University (1:00 p.m.) tomorrow (Saturday – Sep. 27) at a tri-match hosted by Ohio Valley in Vienna, W. Va.
