Arrows Win Fourth Straight with Sweep of Oberlin

OBERLIN, Ohio – The Ursuline College volleyball team cruised to its fourth straight victory with a 3-0 sweep of host Oberlin College on Wednesday (Sep. 17) night.

The Arrows won the first set 25-21 before taking both the second and third by identical 25-17 scores.

Ursuline improved to 4-1 overall while Oberlin dipped to 4-8 after losing its fourth match in its last five tries.

It was a total team effort as junior Abbie Fabo led the club with eight kills, most of which were set up by senior setter Molly Hilfinger who finished with 20 assists. Hilfinger added seven kills, as did sophomore Makayla Windau.

Fabo, Windau and junior Jaclyn Brandt all had a team-high 11 digs.

Oberlin's Claudia Scott had a match-high nine kills while setter Meredith Leung handed out 28 assists.

The Arrows will host Glenville State College on Saturday (Sep. 20) at 4:00 p.m. at John Carroll University's Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center. Please note the venue change as it was announced on Tuesday that the match had been moved from the original location, Hathaway Brown School.
