URBANA, Ohio – Freshman Bailey Patterson scored a school record seven goals to help the Ursuline College lacrosse team earn its first ever Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory, 13-8 over host Urbana University.

Urbana took an early 1-0 lead on Sunday before the Arrows rattled off six straight goals. Another Burke goal followed by three more Patterson tallies had UC up 6-1 with 17:33 left in the first period.

Hannah Walters scored an unassisted goal to cut UC's lead to four but the Arrows went on a 3-0 run to widen the gap.

Patterson's fourth goal of the day made it a 7-2 game and then her classmates Anika Aberegg and Sarah Kiefer got into the act to extend the lead to 9-2.

Five straight Blue Knight goals brought the home team within two at 9-7 but UC finished strong, scoring four of the game's final five goals. Aberegg scored with 21:51 left and Burke followed with another score with a little more than 17 minutes to play.

Walters put UU's final score on the board but Patterson scored twice down the stretch to decide the final outcome.
