ALLENDALE, Mich. The Ursuline College lacrosse team was blanked by Grand Valley State University, 18-0, on Thursday (April 17) evening.

Ed Karasek's team had to play with 10 players because of injuries and it wasn't easy going up against the top team in the conference.

The Arrows had their two-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 4-8 overall and 0-5 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Lakers jumped to 8-5 overall and are now a perfect five-for-five in conference games.

Ryan Skomial, Meagan Emery, Carolyn Kraus, Victoria Devine and Livvy Mickevicius all scored two goals for GVSU. UC freshman goalkeeper Lauren Cole was peppered all evening as the Lakers outshot the Arrows 29-3. The rookie keeper did make six saves while her counterpart Sarah Zwilsky was forced to make just two stops.

Ursuline will begin a three-game homestand – its final of the season – on Saturday (April 19) against Wheeling Jesuit University. The Arrows and Cardinals will get together at 2:00 p.m. and fans can tune into the Ursuline College Sports Network for free live audio.
