Box Score

PEPPER PIKE, Ohio The Ursuline College lacrosse team, playing 12-on-10 due to injuries, lost to the guests from Tiffin University, 18-6, in the first ever home game in program history.

The Arrows have now dropped four straight and are 2-7 overall and 0-4 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Tiffin improved to 5-8 overall and 3-1 in conference play.

Tiffin scored 24 seconds into the game on a goal from Aubrey MacMillan. Morgan Sherley scored 51 seconds after her and it looked like the route was on.

Ursuline hung around, though.

Freshman Bailey Patterson scored to make it a 2-1 game before the Dragons rattled off two scores to grow the lead to 4-1. Two more Patterson goals with a score from classmate Sarah Kiefer in between brought the Arrows all the way back to make it 4-4.

TU's Kalie Weinheimer scored with 14:02 left in the first half to give the Dragons a 5-4 lead before UC freshman Grace Savage answered to knot the score at five. Tiffin went on an 8-0 run to close the half and took a 13-5 lead into intermission.

The visitors scored the first five goals of the second period before Kiefer scored on a free position shot with 13 seconds remaining to decide the final score.

Freshman Lauren Cole made seven saves but was handed the loss. Tiffin used a trio in net but starter Jessica Bombard, who played the first 35:55 and made there saves, earned the win.

Ursuline will play its second consecutive home game on Monday (April 14) when Franciscan University comes to town. That game will start at 5:00 p.m. Because of a conference softball doubleheader being played on campus at the same time, there will not be any live coverage of Monday's game.
