NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Ursuline College basketball team had its season come to an end on Friday (March 7) evening in Nashville at the hands of Trevecca Nazarene University. The back-to-back regular season champions defended their home court and beat the Arrows, 79-69, in the first of two Great Midwest Athletic Conference semifinal games to survive and advance.
The Arrows conclude the regular season at 14-14 overall, representing a 10-game improvement in the win column from a year ago. In the 13-year history of the program, this is the third season in which the team had a winning percentage of .500 or better and the first since the 2008-09 team also finished 14-14. Head coach Shannon Sword's team came one win shy of tying the school record for wins in a season, set in 2006-07.
Trevecca Nazarene, now 19-8 overall and winners in five straight, advances to Saturday's (March 8) conference title game against the winner of tonight's second semifinal between Cedarville University and Kentucky Wesleyan College.
Last year, the Trojans advanced to the inaugural conference championship game but fell to Urbana University, 70-63. Saturday's title game will be covered with free live video and free live stats, available

Four Trojans scored in double figures, led by Britt Bell's 13. Guard Christina Curtner totaled 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Ursuline led the game by six at half, 37-31, and led 48-40 before the Trojans went on an 8-0 run to tie the game. With 6:39 left, TNU led 63-56 and the Arrows never got closer than seven.
The Arrows won the battle of the boards 45-43 but committed 12 more turnovers than the home team.
