NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The old adage in sports is that its hard to beat a good team three times in one season. Luckily for the Ursuline College basketball team, that proved true on Thursday (March 6) afternoon against Davis & Elkins College in the opening round of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships. After losing to the Senators in two hotly-contested games during the regular season, the Arrows beat D&E, 89-79, when it mattered most.
Ursuline, now 14-13 overall, advances to Friday's 6:00 p.m. (Eastern) semifinal against top-seeded Trevecca Nazarene University after the Trojans eliminated Central State University in the first game of the day, 77-63. Davis & Elkins finishes the season at 15-14. TNU won both meetings with Ursuline this season, taking last Saturday's (March 1) contest by 10.
