ADRIAN, Mich. – The Ursuline College lacrosse team dropped Friday (March 28) night's non-conference match to host Siena Heights University, 22-13.
The Arrows have lost three straight after defeating Wilmington College in the season opener. Siena Heights snapped its three-game losing skid and inched closer to the .500 mark at 5-6.
Freshman Maddie Kipp led Ursuline with four goals and two assists while her classmates Anika Aberegg, Sarah Kiefer and Bailey Patterson all scored three times. The Saints got seven goals from Erin Kehn while Sydney VanHoose and Stephanie Gonzalez each notched four scores.
UC rookie goalkeeper Lauren Cole made 11 saves and her counterpart Tabitha Ferguson made 13 stops.
It was a tight game early on with the Saints on top 4-3 after Kiefer's first goal of the game with 18:37 left in the first half before SHU went on a five-goal run to grow the lead to six. The Arrows scored the next two goals of the game to cut the deficit to four before Siena Heights tacked on two more scores to go into the break up 11-5.
Kipp scored with 14:21 left to make it a 16-12 game but UC never got closer than four.
