WILBERFORCE, Ohio – Freshman wing Tajanee Wells scored a career-high 32 points as Ursuline College knocked off Central State University by a score of 85-70 on Saturday (Feb. 22) afternoon.

Wells made 13 of her 19 field goal attempts and also pulled down nine rebounds in 36 minutes of action. Junior forward Emma Ricketts scored 15 points on 60 percent (6-10) shooting while freshman guard Erica Huber and senior guard Katie Cappello each scored 12.

Freshman wing Laney Lewis chipped in 11 points off the bench to give Ursuline five players in double figures.

Four different Marauders had at least 10 points and Iniquia Snell led the way with 20.

With the win, the Arrows improved to 13-11 overall and 8-6 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Central State, losers in eight straight, is 5-16 overall and 1-12 in conference play.

Ursuline led by just one (42-41) at the break but won the second stanza by 14, 43-29. Wells had 18 of her 32 in the first half on 8-10 shooting and then scored 14 more in the second period while Ricketts went for 10 second half points.

Turnovers were even at 23 apiece and CSU outrebounded Ursuline 42-34.

Of note, junior guard Brianna Woods had five assists to give her 342 in her career – three shy of tying Jessica Wood's school record.

Ursuline will stay on the road for its final two games of the regular season. On Thursday (Feb. 27), the Arrows will take on Kentucky Wesleyan College at 5:30 p.m. Central Standard Time (6:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time). The KWC Sports Information Department will provide free live audio and free live stats.

When these two teams met in Cleveland on Jan. 22, the Panthers won 81-57.
