CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Ursuline College had its three-game winning streak snapped by Cedarville University, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference leader, on Thursday (Feb. 20) night, 79-67.
The Arrows remain a game over .500 overall as well as in conference play at 12-11 and 7-6. The Yellow Jackets, winners in nine straight, are 15-8 overall and 11-2 in G-MAC action.
Senior guard Katie Cappello led UC with 15 points on 6-11 shooting while freshmen guards Jenny Grigsby and Erica Huber each scored 12. Freshman wing Tajanee Wells pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds, tying her career-high.
Five different players scored in double figures for the Yellow Jackets and Lauryn Robinson had a game-high 16 points on 70 percent (7-10) shooting.
The Arrows trailed by just three, 35-32, at halftime. Cappello and junior guard Brianna Woods both hit a pair of three-pointers in the opening 20 minutes and Ursuline attempted 19 shots from behind the arc in the first half. Cedarville made one of its four three-point attempts in the opening period.
In the second half, UC tied the game at 37 before a 14-2 Yellow Jacket run provided the home team with a cushion. Once Cedarville went up 51-39, the two teams each scored 28 points over the final 13:49.
The Yellow Jackets won the second half battle of the boards by six (45-40 in the game) and guard Kayla Jenerette, who scored 26 points and grabbed seven boards in the first meeting this season, scored 12 points in the final 20 minutes after going scoreless in the first half to help her team win the final period by nine.
The Arrows will remain in the area and take on
Central State University at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 22). Max Radigan will call the game live on the

When the Arrows and Marauders got together on Jan. 11 in University Heights,
Ursuline won by 21 (90-69).
