SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Five Arrows scored in double figures as Ursuline College won its "home" finale, 98-81, over Wilberforce University in Saturday (Feb. 15) night's non-conference showdown at Notre Dame College's Murphy Gymnasium. The 98 points were the most scored by an Ursuline team since the Arrows scored 104 in a win against Wilberforce on Feb. 7, 2009.

Ursuline has now won three straight and improved its record to 12-10 overall. The Bulldogs have dropped four straight and have slipped to 7-19 on the year.

Junior forward Emma Ricketts led UC with 18 points on 8-13 (61.5 percent) shooting. Senior guard Katie Cappello poured in 15 on 'Senior Night' and freshman lead guard Erica Huber scored 13, one more than her classmate Laney Lewis. Junior guard Brianna Woods finished with 10 points and seven assists, tied for the most helpers she has had in a game all season.

Woods is now just nine assists shy of tying Jessica Wood's career assist mark (345).

UC led Saturday night's game by 22 (54-32) at halftime after shooting 51.2 percent (21-41) from the field in the first 20 minutes while limiting the opponent to 10 made field goals.

The Bulldogs scratched and clawed and cut the deficit to 11 at 65-54 after a Cortland Mullins bucket with 12:49 left. Huber hit a three-ball and Cappello successfully converted a three-point play to grow the lead to 17 and the Arrows never looked back.

Rebounding was even at 38 boards each and UC committed four fewer turnovers (23-19) than Wilberforce. Ursuline also had 60 points in the paint, 14 of which came on fast breaks, while Wilberforce had 32 in the key.

Shannon Sword's bench outscored the opposition 44-19. Reserve senior posts Natalie Cook and Shanade Bernard combined to give Ursuline 22 valuable minutes. Cook had seven points and six boards while Bernard hit both of her field goal attempts in her final "home" game.

Also of note, freshman Natalie Nickol converted all six of her free throw attempts to finish with a career-high six points.

The Arrows will close the regular season with four straight conference road games, starting with Cedarville University on Thursday (Feb. 20). That game will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. and the Cedarville Sports Information Department will provide free live video and free live stats, available here.

When these two teams played at John Carroll University on Jan. 9, Cedarville won by 12 (90-78).
