Follow Ursuline Athletics on FacebookOWENSBORO, Ky. - The Ursuline College volleyball team lost to host Kentucky Wesleyan College in five sets in the regular season finale on Saturday (Nov. 8) afternoon.
Ursuline won sets one and three by identical 25-19 scores with a 25-16 loss sandwiched in between. The Panthers took the fourth set 25-21 to force a deciding set that they ultimately won 15-7.
The Arrows end the regular season with a record of 17-8 overall and 8-4 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference while KWC concludes the regular season at 15-12 overall and 7-4 in conference play.
UC will be the third seed in next weekend's G-MAC tournament and KWC is seeded fourth.
Sophomore Makayla Windau had a terrific showing with 14 kills and 17 digs - both of which were team-highs. Freshman Courtney Burns had a career-high 12 kills and junior Abbie Fabo chipped in 10.
Senior setter Molly Hilfinger had yet another double-double with 41 assists and 12 digs.
Defensively, sophomore Sammi Marcum had 14 digs which was the second most she has had in a match in 2014.
