PAINESVILLE, Ohio - The Ursuline College basketball team led host Lake Erie College for much of the day but ultimately, the Storm was too strong as LEC came out on top, 84-77, on Wednesday (Nov. 26) afternoon.

The Arrows dipped to 0-5 while Lake Erie improved to 3-1.

Ursuline led by as many as 12 after freshman Camille Gist hit a jumper to put the Arrows up 25-13 with 8:43 to go in the first half. That lead shrunk to eight at the break and UC went into the locker room up 40-32 at the half.

The Arrows still led by 10 (46-36) with 17:01 to go but over the next 10 minutes, the Storm went on a 25-5 run to flip the script and go in front by 10.

Sophomore guard Erica Huber and senior forward Emma Ricketts both hit three-pointers inside of two minutes to cut the lead to three at 77-74 with 1:23 remaining. However, Lake Erie knocked down its free throws and took care of the ball to close out the game.

Huber finished with a game-high 18 points and she did so on just three field goals attempts. The Anna High School alum hit a pair of three-balls and a two-pointer while knocking down 10 of 14 attempts at the free throw line. The 5-foot-4 point guard also led the team with 10 rebounds, matching her career-high for the second straight game.

Ricketts had 16 points, seven boards and a block while her classmate Brianna Woods scored 10 points and dished out a game-high six assists.

Freshmen Madison Schroeder (eight), Makayla Rosselot (seven), Camryn Hill (six), Gist (four) and Kylie Owoc (two) combined for 27 points and sophomore Delayne Seigla contributed six.

Four players scored in double figures for the storm. Kaeding Skelton had a team-high 16 and Kayla Gabor chipped in 15. Guards Sami Narducci and Daija Jones both poured in 14.

As a team, Ursuline shot 44.6 percent (25-66) from the field and Lake Erie came in at 42.3 percent (30-71). Shannon Sword's team also won the battle of the boards (48-37) but the big difference came in the turnover category where UC had 22 mistakes and LEC turned the rock over just six times. The Storm had 17 points off turnovers and the Arrows had three.

Ursuline will be back at Lake Erie College's Jerome T. Osborne Family Athletic and Wellness Center -- this time as the home team -- on Saturday (Nov. 29) to take on Lake Superior State University. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and free live stats and free live audio will be available.

The Lakers are 2-0 on the year and have been idle since Nov. 15.
