SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio –
The Tiffin University volleyball team entered Wednesday's (Sep. 11) match against Ursuline College with an unblemished 3-0 record. It was easy to see why as the Dragons totaled 56 total kills on their way to a four-set victory over the Arrows at Laurel School's gymnasium.

Tiffin won the first two sets 25-12 and 25-17. Ursuline bounced back to take the third set, 25-18, but the Dragons clinched it with a 25-19 victory in set number four.

After Wednesday's "home opener," the Arrows are 1-4 overall while Tiffin improved to 4-0.

Not to be lost in the defeat was the fact that Ursuline's freshmen really stepped up. Rookie Emily Adkinson had the best match of her young career with nine kills and no errors to finish with a .500 hitting percentage. She had nine total kills in her first four collegiate matches.

Adkinson's classmate Sammi Marcum chipped in six kills, as did sophomore Elise Harcek and senior Alex Leister.

Sophomore Abbie Fabo contributed five kills, most of which were part of junior setter Molly Hilfinger's 29 assists. Junior Kelly Stenger paced the defense with 19 digs, four more than Leister.

On the other side, Danielle McQuade and Lu Phillips each contributed 11 kills in Tiffin's victory.

The Arrows will head to Syracuse, New York, for this Saturday's Le Moyne College tri-match. Ursuline is scheduled to take on the host Dolphins at 12:00 p.m. before battling Bloomfield College at 2:00 p.m. Both matches will be covered with free live stats, available here.
