PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – Senior Laura Campbell scored 17 points on Senior Night to lead the Arrows but Ursuline ran out of gas and dropped the regular season finale to Ohio Dominican, 57-50.
The Arrows wrap up the regular season with a 4-21 record while Ohio Dominican has now won five of its last six. The Panthers are 10-15 overall.
It was a back-and-forth affair in the first half and ODU took a 33-30 lead into the intermission after Kacee Hockenberry drilled a three-pointer with just 10 seconds left.
Campbell hit a three right out of the second half gate to tie the game at 33 before the Panthers responded with an 8-0 run to build the lead to 41-33. The resilient Arrows wouldn't go away and countered with a 9-0 spurt of their own to re-take the lead at 42-41.
ODU took the lead for good on a Hockenberry free throw with 11:50 left and Ursuline never could get back on top. The Arrows cut the deficit to four on a Campbell three-pointer with 4:25 left but that was as close as they got.
In the loss, sophomore guard Brianna Woods went for 12 points and five assists. She now has 133 helpers, tying her single season school record set last year.
Senior Dee Erazo, playing in her final regular season home game, scored eight points and pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds.
Ohio Dominican was led by Katelyn Stuckey’s 14 points and seven rebounds while Hockenberry scored 13 points. Mykelia Mast and Alex Hallenbeck each chipped in 10 points and Melissa Scherpenberg finished with six points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
The Panthers dominated the glass and won the battle of the boards by 18, 45-27. Neither team shot particularly well: ODU was 37.7 percent from the field while UC hit 35.2 percent of its shots.
