CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Junior Natalie Cook scored a career-high 18 points but it wasn’t enough as Ursuline fell to host Cedarville, 67-55, on Saturday (Feb. 16) evening.
The Arrows dipped to 3-19 overall and 0-7 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference while Cedarville improved to 15-8 overall and 4-3 in conference play.
In addition to Cook’s game-high 18 points (which came on 7-13 shooting), sophomore guards Brianna Woods (11) and Darria Baker (10) each scored in double figures.
Senior forwards Laura Campbell and Dee Erazo combined for 14 points and 13 rebounds and freshman Andrea Hubbard, UC’s lone sub, contributed two points and three rebounds off the bench.
Both teams turned the basketball over 19 times but Cedarville outrebounded Ursuline by 11, 46-35. The Arrows also had a tough time containing Cedarville’s backcourt duo of Kayla Jenerette and Raegen Ryan. The pair combined for 32 points, 13 rebounds, eight assists and six steals.
After two contests on the road, the Arrows return home on Thursday (Feb. 21) to welcome
Salem International University to town for this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Game. Tip-off at the Matthew J. O’Brien Athletic Center is set for 6:00 p.m.
This will be the second time this season that UC and SIU get together. The Tigers took the first meeting, 61-45, in Salem, W. Va. on Jan. 23.
