WILBERFORCE, Ohio and FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Ursuline College volleyball team went two-for-two on Saturday (Oct. 26) and the wins came in separate states. The Arrows beat in-state conference rival Central State University in the morning before making the commute to take on Kentucky State University.
UC beat Central State in three: 25-17, 25-12 and 25-15. It wasn't as easy against the Thorobreds as the two teams traded 25-18 set victories before the Arrows pulled away with back-to-back 25-16 wins to clinch the victory.
Ursuline is now 14-13 overall and 4-5 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. The 14 wins are twice as many as the Arrows totaled all of last season.
Freshman Makayla Windau had 13 kills against KSU after not playing in the Central State match. Senior Maureen Kelly combined for 12 kills, one more than her classmate Alex Leister who else sat against the Marauders.
Ursuline will play its next three matches at home, starting with Tuesday (Oct. 29) night's showdown against
Notre Dame College. NDC beat UC in five in South Euclid back on Sep. 24 after UC won the first two sets.
Tuesday's re-match will be covered with the
Pizzazz on the Circle Live Stats and Max Radigan will provide free play-by-play on the
Ursuline College Sports Network.
