UC Volleyball Team Takes Care of Ohio Valley in Three

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio – The Ursuline College volleyball team swept Ohio Valley University on Saturday (Oct. 17) afternoon to end a three-match losing skid. Set scores were 25-18, 25-12 and 25-19.

The Arrows are now 11-12 overall and 3-4 in conference play while the Fighting Scots slipped to 11-16 overall and 2-5 in the G-MAC.

As a team, Ursuline had 40 kills and just seven errors in 100 chances to finish with a .330 hitting percentage, UC's second best output of the season (.368 against Central State University on Oct. 4). Senior Alex Leister had a team-high nine kills, two more than freshmen Sammi Marcum and Makayla Windau. Senior Maureen Kelly had six kills and freshman Emily Adkinson and junior Molly Hilfinger each added five.

Hilfinger was credited with 33 assists while Leister (13 digs) and Windau (10 digs) had strong defensive showings.

The Arrows will step out of conference play with a "home" match against Oberlin College on Wednesday (Oct. 23) at Hathaway Brown's Corrigan-Daniels Athletic Center. The Pizzazz on the Circle Live Stats will be available free of charge and Max Radigan will provide free play-by-play on the Ursuline College Sports Network.
