UC Concludes West Coast Trip with Loss to Notre Dame de Namur

BELMONT, Calif. – For the third consecutive night, the Ursuline College volleyball team was swept by an opponent from the Golden State. Thursday's (Oct. 17) loss came against Notre Dame de Namur University.

After going through a stretch where they won six of eight matches, the Arrows have now lost five of their last six and are 10-12 overall. The Argonauts ended their four-match losing skid and improved to 5-14 overall.

Freshman Makayla Windau and senior Alex Leiser each had five kills to lead the Ursuline effort. Senior Maureen Kelly and sophomore Sabrina Kinney each contributed three kills while freshmen Emily Adkinson and Sammi Marcum, sophomore McKenzie Fry and junior Kelly Stenger all had a kill to their name.

Six of those kills were set up by senior Ashley Reinhart and six more were assisted by redshirt sophomore Kelley Plas. Defensively, Leister and Stenger each had 10 digs.

Sarah Rodriguez (14) and Callan Finney (13) combined for 27 kills and helped the Argonauts finish with a .252 hitting percentage while the Arrows hit .066.

Ursuline will return home to take on Ohio Valley University on Saturday (Oct. 19). That match will start at 2:00 p.m. at Hathaway Brown's Corrigan-Daniels Athletic Center.
