PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – The Ursuline College volleyball team faced a tough opponent in Point Park University on Thursday (Sep. 27) night and was on the wrong end of a 3-0 match. Set scores were 25-12, 25-21 and 25-15.
The Arrows are now 2-16 overall (1-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference) while Point Park jumped to 15-3 overall and earned head coach Mike Bruno his 300th career win in the process.
Junior Maureen Kelly led Ursuline with nine kills while classmate Alex Leister chipped in five and freshmen Elise Harcek (four) and McKenzie Fry (two) combined for the other six. The Pioneers were paced by three players who recorded double-digits kills.
Of the 20 kills that Ursuline totaled, 17 came on assists from junior Ashley Reinhart. Sophomore libero Kelly Stenger led the defense with 19 digs.
After tonight’s brief break from conference play, the Arrows have two more Great Midwest Athletic Conference matches are on the docket in Urbana, Ohio on Saturday (Sep. 29). Ursuline takes on
Travecca Nazarene University at 1:00 p.m. and
