CEDARVILLE, Ohio – After sweeping the first Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) match of the season against Central State University on Friday (Sep. 21), the Ursuline College volleyball team was swept by the host Cedarville University Yellow Jackets on Tuesday (Sep. 25) night. Set scores were 25-11, 25-21 and 25-14.
With the loss, the Arrows are now 2-15 overall and 1-1 in the G-MAC while Cedarville improved to 15-3 and 2-0 in the conference.
Juniors Alex Leister and Maureen Kelly each had five kills to combine for 10 of the 16 that the Arrows earned. Junior Heidi Mervar had two kills while junior Ashley Reinhart, sophomores Brittany Kempf and Kelly Stenger and freshman Elise Harcek all chipped in one.
The Yellow Jackets had a well-balanced offensive attack that saw six student-athletes record at least three kills.
Reinhart had 14 assists and Leister and Stenger each had a team-high eight digs.
The Arrows return home on Thursday (Sep. 27) night to take on Point Park University. The Pioneers are 14-3 overall and 4-1 in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Thursday night’s match will have
